Resources for Anger Management
Christian Counseling in Spokane Washington
Counseling for Individuals, Couples and Families
Everyone gets stressed, yet not everyone loses their temper. Have you ever wondered what they know that you don't know, the diplomats and others who handle potentially rage-producing situations with poise and grace?
Want to be cool and not look like a fool? Anger management helps you change your reaction even when you can't change what happened to trigger your reaction. Of course, if you can do something to prevent angry situations from developing, you should, just like checking your vehicle so it does not break down.
When I teach anger management skills to families and businesses, I use the principles taught by Viktor Frankl, who survived the Nazi concentration camps. He found that inmates who had meaning in their lives could better deal with starvation, torture, imprisonment, and forced labor. He founded a school of psychology on the idea that it's not what happens to you, but how you think about it. If those suffering people could keep their tempers in that situation, surely the rest of us can learn to deal with the stressors of work and home, and even traffic.
The tools in this section have been used in seminars and workshops, and have helped others to have a new idea or two for dealing with frustration. If you need more help than you find here, then please call me at 509-466-6632.
