Christian Counseling in Spokane Washington
Counseling for Individuals, Couples and Families
I love learning. I want to grow in wisdom and in favor with God and other people. My goal is to do what the Apostle Paul suggested: mature into the likeness of Christ.
Wouldn't it be great if every few years you could see your progress and know you are becoming more like whomever you esteem most?
Personal development means you take it personally: where do you want to go? And how do you want to get there? Stephen Covey suggests we begin our journey with the end in mind. What is your vision for you?
The materials in this Personal Development section have been used in training and counseling to help people grow. Others have helped me grow: counselors, teachers, mentors, spiritual directors, supervisors, trainers, parents and even my own family. I have been fortunate to accompany others as they have developed.
A few years ago, the owners and managers of a chain of fast food restaurants were have some interpersonal problems. The executives met with me and we did some quot;imagineering" to use our imaginations to envision some solutions. When I led a workshop for them, we went over some of these materials and others to help not only what went on between them, but also what happened inside each of them. As a result, conflicts were lessened; understanding and productivity was improved.
I like it on the airlines when the flight attendants make the announcement to put on your own oxygen mask and then help others. That's a great example of self-care: I take care of myself so that I can take care of others. Self-care, boundary and priority setting, and changing any stinkin' thinkin' is just as important on the ground as it is in the air.
After you review these materials, if you have questions on how to use them for your own personal development or interpersonal relationships, then please call me at 509-466-6632.
